In my works, I seek to visualise what is important to me, and what I feel, can be expressed in the language of weaving. I explore an area of human experience which, whatever the knowledge possessed, makes us wonder at, or fear, a mixture of the high level of technical development and the chance and chaotic. My work has been for me a continuous attempt at establishing or discovering the already existing meanings in object, woven object, investigating their inner orders, tracing their mutual relations, tension values, various degrees of satiation with their own energy and power of appeal. My most frequent approach is that of creating condition of tranquility, an insight to within oneself, a confirmation of one?s owns self, one's own identity. I would like my tapestries to be both austere and light. I would like to express what is hard to express in words, the purpose of their existence in the world of other object of conscious creation justified through the means applied in their making.
There is something so naturally human about tapestry making as man's ability to walk. I have been walking ever since I remember. My best ideas have come to while walking.
